Is this our fate?
by paul from cleveland inis there fate?
if so, are we fated to be the bad evil slave?.
if the bible prophecies that there will be an 'evil slave that falls away and beats his fellow slaves because the master is delaying' doesn't that mean that someone has to fulfill that prophecy otherwise the prophecy would be false?

I'm just thinking because I've always known from childhood that I would be the bad one... I wanted to be the good one but I wasn't. I always felt like Cain...

If the bible prophecies that there will be an 'evil slave that falls away and beats his fellow slaves because the master is delaying' doesn't that mean that someone has to fulfill that prophecy otherwise the prophecy would be false? In other words, some one or a group of people have no choice but to be the 'evil slave'. Just like it was prophesied that someone would betray Jesus... so no matter what, one of the apostles had to betray him... they couldn't just all have chosen to be loyal. Couldn't it be that most every one on earth doesn't have a choice but to reject God because if it were any other way prophecy wouldn't be fulfilled? Is it our fate to be the bad one? Do most people have no choice but be bad because of all the prophecies, that were made before they were even born, said they'd be bad? (Broad road to destruction, etc, etc)

I believe that most trouble man makes for himself through an over-active mind.
That makes sense but how do you turn your brain off? Mine just keeps going in over-drive.

New light: Generation
by 5thGeneration ingot some info from the annual meeting.. unofficially, the 'generation' is now categorized as 2 groups.
the first is 'the 1914 group' and the second is the younger anointed 'contemporaries' who 'actually work for a period of time with those anointed ones'.. the 'generation' is now 'the lifespan of those who actually saw the beginning of the sign and then the lifespan of those who worked with those who saw the beginning of the sign'.. here we go again....

An elder once told me that since the Society is right on so many issues (soul, hellfire, trinity, etc.) that we basically "give it to them" (meaning the benefit of the doubt on the generation issue)

World Conditions Continue to Improve
by zarco instartfragment.
as we enter into a new decade, it might make sense to look back to view the progress than mankind has made in these last days.. about 200 years ago everyone on the planet lived on the modern day equivalent of about $400 a year.
the exceptions were tiny nobilities.

by Aussie Oz injust watched this documentary on our local tv.
among all the issues touched on, one really stood out to me.. the elderly jw man, who survived the concentration camps as a jew, who became a jw after observing them in the camp was reuniting his two sides of family.
the jw and his jewish daughters family.

Hi Aussie,
That is my major problem too. I can't fathom a God that is going to kill almost the entire world of mankind. How does that make him any different than Hitler? Hitler's solution was to purge the earth of the 'undesirable' ones. The God of the Jehovah's Witnesses solution seems to be the same. Isn't there some better way to solve the worlds problems? Killing everyone is a solution that a man thought up (Hitler). Hopefully God's plan will transcend that. Otherwise, Hitler should be praised for patterning himself after God.
